WoundWISE is a new Canadian event series for health care professionals caring for individuals experiencing skin and wound related challenges. WoundWISE is brought to you by industry partners in proud partnership with Nurses Specialized in Wound, Ostomy and Continence Canada (NSWOCC).

 

WoundWISE events offers wound care skill development with with a focus on best practice recommendations, and is a rare opportunity to get hands-on training and best practice education with some of the latest innovations in advanced wound care.

Plus, attendees receive an NSWOCC-issued certificate of attendance.

From cleanse to close, we're bringing skin and wound care skills and education to the forefront in this unique, first-of-its kind event.

Clinicians from all over Southwestern Ontario are invited to join us in Kitchener on July 15, 2025 for a station-based clinical lab offering practical, hands-on product training and best practice education across the advanced wound healing continuum for acute and chronic wounds.

Attendees will circulate through stations from a complimentary group of partners for a well-rounded education and training experience with ample opportunity to use each product and have questions answered.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this hands-on skills session, participants will be able to:
  • Determine an advanced scientific approach to wound cleansing.
  • Evaluate methods to simplify wound dressing selection and NPWT application for chronic wounds.
  • Create a competency based learning plan to support evidence based patient care (NSWOC, SWAN and foundational education programs).
  • Discuss the mechanism of improving blood flow to the lower extremity using a muscle pump activator.
  • Identify an advanced wound healing approach through the use of topical oxygen therapy.
  • Examine innovative wound products and how to access through distribution.

Held in the central location of Kitchener, this first ever WoundWISE event is intended to serve health care professionals and wound care specialists in Southwestern Ontario.

HERE'S THE PLAN

Enjoy complimentary refreshments upon arrival. After opening remarks and a guest speaker, you'll rotate through interactive stations for hands-on training from clinical educators. An engaging keynote presentation will be held during lunch, with identical morning and afternoon sessions provided to provide flexibility of choice for the busy schedules of care professionals. Attendees are welcome to attend both sessions.
